Building the Infrastructure for Regenerative Medicine

Synova Life Sciences is building a faster, safer, and more scalable way to harvest stem cells — addressing a critical bottleneck at the beginning of the Regenerative Medicine value chain.

Its FDA-cleared WAVE system processes adipose tissue approximately 30X faster than traditional methods while producing up to 2X greater cell yield.

Now, after years of development and regulatory work, Synova is entering commercialization with multiple paid contracts and $25M+ in LOIs.

The Problem

Stem Cells hold enormous promise. Harvesting them remains a bottleneck.

Stem Cells are increasingly being used across Regenerative Medicine, Orthopedics, Aesthetics, Sports Medicine, Pain Management, and other emerging applications.

But many of these procedures begin with the same challenge: efficiently harvesting high-quality Stem Cells from the patient.

Adipose tissue — ordinary body fat — is one of the richest sources of these cells. Yet traditional processing methods can be slow, cumbersome, and difficult to scale across busy clinical environments.

As Regenerative Medicine grows, the infrastructure used to harvest these cells needs to grow with it.

The Solution

Synova built a dramatically faster way to harvest Stem Cells, 30X faster!

Synova's WAVE Adipose Processing System uses mechanical impulse-wave technology to separate Stem Cells from adipose tissue inside a closed, sterile system.

Unlike traditional approaches that rely on enzymes, WAVE mechanically processes the tissue — allowing physicians to isolate Stem Cells significantly faster while producing up to 2X greater cell yield.

What previously required a slow and cumbersome processing workflow can now be performed through a standardized medical device designed for clinical use.

The system is closed, sterile, and enzyme-free, reducing the complexity involved in preparing cells for Regenerative Medicine procedures.

Why Invest

After years of development, Synova is entering commercialization.

Synova reached its most important milestone in November 2025 when the WAVE system received FDA clearance, allowing the company to begin commercializing the technology in the United States.

The company has already secured multiple paid contracts, alongside $25M+ in LOIs representing 62 clinics and more than 12,500 annual procedures.

‍
Every installed system can generate recurring revenue.

Synova's business does not end with the sale of the WAVE system.

Each procedure requires a single-use disposable cartridge, creating a razor-and-blade business model where every installed system can generate recurring cartridge revenue as procedure volume grows.

More WAVE systems → more procedures → more disposable cartridges → more recurring revenue

‍

Synova could become the infrastructure behind a much larger Regenerative Medicine market.

Today, Stem Cell harvesting is still slow, cumbersome, and difficult to scale. That doesn't just create a problem for existing procedures — it limits how broadly Stem Cell therapies can be used in the first place.

By making harvesting faster and easier to deploy inside clinics, Synova can help expand the number of physicians, procedures, and applications where Stem Cells are practical to use.

That means the opportunity isn't limited to taking share from existing Stem Cell processing methods. If WAVE makes Stem Cell procedures easier to offer at scale, Synova can help grow the market itself.

And because the same system can support Orthopedics, Aesthetics, Sports Medicine, Pain Management, Hair Restoration, Tissue Repair, and future Regenerative Medicine applications, every new use case expands the market Synova can serve.

The bigger Regenerative Medicine becomes, the more valuable the infrastructure supplying its Stem Cells becomes.

The Team

John Chi

CO-FOUNDER / CEO

John Chi is CEO and founder at Synova Life Sciences. At Synova, John is the inventor of the core technology, and has been issued 18 patents internationally with more pending and in the pipeline.  Before joining the University, John was CTO and co-founder of post-production company, Digital Quest, Inc. until its acquisition in 2004.  John received his BS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and his Master’s in Biotechnology (MBt) with an emphasis in Business through an integrated Cal State consortium graduate program (LA, Pomona, Fullerton).

Michel Haddad

CO-FOUNDER / CMO

As Chief Commercial Officer and co-founder, Michel Haddad is responsible for Synova’s business development, market entry, customer discovery and establishing growth and clinical partners.  Michel is the hustle engine at Synova and over his career has found rapid strategic entries into industries that typically take many years to develop.  Previously Michel was CMO of AquaCloud, a remote water quality monitoring company where he secured contracts and pilots with numerous water municipalities including Orange County Public Works, Contra Costa Water District, Palo Alto Water District, and the Metropolitan Water District.  Michel and his team launched the first IOT large-body water-monitoring device.

Rob Kent

COO

As Chief Operating Officer, Rob Kent runs Synova’s operations and financial analysis.  Previously Rob was CEO of O2 Concepts, a start-up medical device manufacturer of portable oxygen equipment.  Rob and his team changed the industry by launching the first connected portable oxygen devices in a partnership with Verizon. This allowed caregivers to monitor equipment location and patient compliance, and propelled O2 Concepts to 5X growth in three years.  Rob has launched over 10 Class 2 Medical Devices through FDA and CE approval and is the operational driver at Synova. Over his career he has led operations, sales, finance and product development in fortune 500, private equity and teams of over 200 people and operating budgets of over $40M.  Rob holds a bachelors in Economics from the United States Naval Academy and an MBA from UC Irvine.
